Peking roast ducks for US tourists
More than 130 American tourists gathered at the Quanjude Peking Roast Duck Restaurant's Qianmen branch for dinner on March 18. It was the biggest tourist group at the restaurant since it reopened after a major revamp in August 2008. Besides preparing sumptuous meals, the restaurant hosted performances of Sichuan "face-changing", Peking Opera singing and also offered traditional small eats like candied hawthorn fruit skewers to the American visitors. Most of the tourists were on the Princess Cruise visiting China. The restaurant has welcomed more than 10,000 tourists from the Cruise in the past 10 years. It is expected to see at least 1,000 foreign tourists in March.
