CNOOC gas field

CNOOC Ltd, China's biggest offshore oil producer, has started production at a gas field in the South China Sea. The Panyu 30-1 field, about 240 km south of Hong Kong, is producing about 30 million cubic feet of natural gas a day, the company said. CNOOC said in January it aims to increase oil and gas output by as much as 18 percent this year. Production at Panyu 30-1 will rise to 93 million cubic feet later this year.
