Drug traffickers guilty

Fourteen people who produced and trafficked 2 tons of drugs were found guilty on Monday by Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court, with the ringleader sentenced to death.

According to the ruling, the group not only produced and trafficked drugs but also committed prison break, illegally held weapons and illegally kept someone in custody from 2001 to 2006. Ringleader Liu Fawei was sentenced to death. His 13 co-conspirators were sentenced to death in probation, life imprisonment, and terms of imprisonment from three to 18 years. Liu has lodged an appeal.
