Tone twisters

For most non-native speakers, Chinese can seem like an extremely tricky language, because the slightest change of tone can make the greatest difference to the meaning.

Ada was heckled for her lazy pronunciation of shujio, "boiled dumpling", which sounded more like shujio, "to sleep", making the restaurant name Grandma's Dumplings sound something like "Grandma is sleeping".
