Special Report: Wuhan wows delegates as scientific center
Wuhan has underlined its credentials as one of the world's foremost centers of excellence for the study of the material sciences. The confirmation came late last year when the Wuhan University of Technology (WHUT) was chosen as the venue for the prestigious First International Symposium on Advanced Synthesis and Processing Technology for Materials (ASPT08).
This premiere global scientific gathering was organized under the joint auspices of central China's Wuhan University of Technology, Japan's Tohoku University's Institute for Materials Research and Australia's Monash University.
As well as support from the three universities, the event was also supported by a number of other leading bodies in the international field of material sciences, including the Global COE Program, the A3 Foresight Project, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Australian Ceramic Society and the Korean Science and Engineering Foundation.
