Strong business winds still blowing across South China

GUANGZHOU: American enterprises in South China are expected to maintain or enlarge their investment over the next three years, according to a survey by the American Chamber of Commerce in South China (AmCham South China).

"Even though the economic recession has influenced China, most of our members are optimistic on the future and satisfied with the current investment environment," Harley Seyedin, president of AmCham South China, said.

The survey, called the 2009 White Paper on the Business Environment in China, was conducted by the chamber from October last year to March this year and covered 551 enterprises from its 1,650 members. It also provided a fact-based account of the contemporary trends in the business environment. The report indicated that investors are still cautious on expansion plans.
