Pakistani police suspect local militants were likely responsible for the bloody ambush of the Sri Lankan cricket team in the eastern city of Lahore, an investigator said on Friday.
A senior police investigator said officers had received information a banned Sunni militant group played role. "We have identified the people who did the operation," provincial governor Salman Taseer said late on Thursday.
