Erhu magic

Zhou Wei's fingers dance on the strings of the erhu, as the rise and fall of the melodies conjure up images of pine, plum, spring and moon.

His skilful playing brings alive this traditional instrument with the alternating slow and fast tones. And the electro-acoustic band that accompanies the erhu performance, enhances the gradations of the pitch and gives the music much impact.

Zhou, a top musician from the China National Oriental Song and Dance Ensemble, will appear on the stage of the Peking University Concert Hall tonight.
