'Five Points, One Line' policy now set to benefit Liaoning

Shining like exotic pearls along their shared coastline, six cities in northeast China's Liaoning province have become strategically linked in an ambitious development program, dubbed "Five Points, One Line", that is set to rewrite the economic landscape of the region.

The Liaoning provincial Communist Party committee and the national government launched the strategy in 2005.

As part of the 11th Five-Year Plan (2006-10), huge investments have been made in the cities of Dandong, Dalian, Yingkou, Panjin, Jinzhou and Huludao to boost their economies and infrastructure.
