The highs and lows of hiring a nanny

In many English-language accounts of hiring an ayi there are often humorous tales about cultural differences.
We have had our share. We don't like the copious amounts of salt and oil our ayi puts in food (so we hide the salt); and our kid doesn't like being spoon-fed (so she insists on doing it herself).
Since children are generally more adaptable the cultural problems related to hiring an ayi are more likely to be adult related.
