BJW restaurant awards

The past year has certainly been an eventful year, even for Beijing's catering business. Many new hotel and restaurants opened around the time of the Olympics. Five-star hotels in Beijing have always housed the city's best restaurants. This year, Pangu Wenqi Chinese restaurant, which has a great view of Olympic Park, and Camoes Portuguese restaurant at Legendale, are no exception.

The opening of Legation Quarter attracted much attention - Maison Boulud, offering top service and food, and Agua with its Spanish dishes, are both among the best restaurants in the capital.

When in Beijing, eat as Beijingers do. BJW picks several restaurants with a Qing dynasty imperial-style decor, and some with imperial-style presentation, too. These include Royal Restaurant's Xihai branch, Yi Jin Yuan Muslim restaurant, and Peking roast duck giant Quanjude's Qianmen branch.
