Navy to the rescue

The Chinese naval fleet successfully rescued a Libyan-flagged vessel Tuesday while fighting pirates in the Somali waters.

The ship, Lia, belonging to an Italian owner, was approached by two speed boats with armed men aboard when its engines were out of service. A helicopter carrying special force soldiers sent from Haikou, one of the Chinese destroyers, fired flare signals and drove away the boats.
