Mainland top job assignment location in Asia, survey says

SHANGHAI: The Chinese mainland has become the most favored job assignment destination in Asia for multinationals, according to a survey released by accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) yesterday.

Seventy-eight percent of all respondents from 112 companies selected the Chinese mainland as their key assignment location in Asia, followed by Singapore (43 percent) and Hong Kong (39 percent).

Similar surveys conducted in the second half of 2008 for Singapore- and Hong Kong-based companies also confirmed the mainland's status as a top assignment location in Asia.
