Brown to visit US

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown will hold talks with US President Barack Obama in Washington on March 3 on the global financial crisis and a comprehensive strategy for Afghanistan, the White House said on Saturday.

"The United States and the United Kingdom share a special partnership, and the president looks forward to working closely with the prime minister to address common global challenges," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said in a statement.

The two leaders would discuss the G20 summit in London on April 2 and the upcoming NATO summit, in particular Obama's call for a new, comprehensive strategy in Afghanistan, the statement said.
