From the marvelous Bird's Nest or National Stadium, to the National Grand Theater, and the gigantic 'L' shaped CCTV new towers, China's avant-garde architecture is the talk of the town. But what will they mean to China in the years to come?
Three prominent figures from China's art and architecture circles will provide their insights through a series of lectures at the Today Art Museum in Chaoyang district.
Wang Yun, architect and scholar from Peking University, who will deliver the first lecture on Saturday, has designed a number of well-known buildings in recent years and set up Atelier Fronti in 2001. He will provide new perspectives on, and ideas for, contemporary design.
