Portugal passion on legs

Portuguese cuisine is hardly known in China, except perhaps, for the egg tarts of KFC. But there is one place that you can go to for an authentic Portuguese experience - Camoes (贾梅士葡式餐厅). The taste feels just right for my Chinese palate, and according to chef de cuisine Bruno Magro, the food is exactly as it would taste back in Portugal.
The presentation of dishes is neat and tempting. The dishes are neither too salty nor too spicy. The tomato soup topped with poached egg (水波蛋) is prepared to perfect softness. Deep-fried codfish cakes (什锦头盘) are crisp and fragrant, with a pleasant chewy texture.
The Cataplana stewed mixed seafood casserole (海鲜什锦煲) impresses, not just with its taste, but also with the copper steamer in which it is made, reflecting the history and culture behind this cooking tradition.
