His camera also told us the story of a 60-something farmer in Henan province, surnamed He, waiting desperately for emergency water supplies to irrigate his parched fields during a severe drought, which continues to affect some regions in the country.
After moving thousands of people across the country with his images posted online, 47-year-old Zhang Xiaoli, a freelance photographer, is now all set to become the first deputy of the people's congress of Luoyang city, his hometown.
