Obama admin keen on 6-party talks

By Zhang Haizhou | China Daily | Updated: 2009-02-18 07:45

That the new US secretary of state Hillary Clinton chose to speak about the DPRK's nuclear issue in Japan is a "signal" that the US is willing to continue the Six-Party Talks, a senior Chinese expert said.

On many occasions, the DPRK has required that Japan be eliminated from the talks.

"Clinton is assuring Japan that it wouldn't be marginalized in resolving the issue," said Rear Admiral Yang Yi, a US expert with China's National Defense University.
