More Monkey magic

The drama, The Monkey King, by the Hangzhou acrobatic troupe of Zhejiang province, is the latest addition to a series of performances being hosted by the city since the Spring Festival.

The show that will run until Sunday at Poly Theater, has not one but two acrobatic shows. Heavily influenced by Japanese anime, including Hello Kitty, the performance features costumes that at once reflect the fantasy world of the original story, Journey to the West.

Unlike other productions, acrobatics and magic serve the plot, and not the other way around.
