Florida's Zednik still skating one year after injury

SUNRISE, Florida: Slovakia's Richard Zednik marked the first anniversary of his horrific on-ice injury on Tuesday by scoring two goals, including the game-winner, in the Florida Panther's 5-4 overtime victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
A year ago, the Panthers forward left a trail of blood on the ice as he skated toward the bench. The carotid artery in his neck had been sliced by a teammate's skate blade, just missing his jugular vein.
"I don't like to think about it," Zednik said before the Panthers played the Maple Leafs at home. "I don't want to go back and think about what could happen, what happened and stuff like that. I'm glad I'm here and I still can enjoy hockey."
