Speak better English

Some 3,000 young professionals and students in China will be able to avail themselves of free online tutoring from now till March, to hone their workplace English skills. The participants are mainly from companies such as Earnest & Young, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Deloitte, HSBC, Citibank, Nokia, and B&Q, as well as registered users of the British Council's free English learning website, English Online.

This new project, initiated by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, brings a global network of teachers to the office desk of the learner through Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). The technology makes possible tailored one-on-one English language tutoring, using tutors accessed on demand through VoIP.
