Fake goods dealers find safe haven on Internet

By Wang Hongyi | China Daily | Updated: 2009-02-10 07:47

SHANGHAI: With e-commerce gradually booming in the country, which has long been one of the world's biggest suppliers of fake goods, even the Internet is not safe from cheap counterfeit products that are undermining the original brands.

Right from DVDs to mobile phones to MP 4 players to cosmetics, traders of all sorts of fake goods have found a rather safe haven in the web, and a never-ending list of loyal customers.

"Products that I sell in my shop are of top quality, still affordable for most shoppers. I have many more than 60 loyal customers who regularly purchase fake but good quality goods from me," an online seller surnamed Chen told China Daily.
