Satellite problem disrupts TV programs

Transmission on 150 satellite TV channels was interrupted yesterday morning because of satellite problems, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) said.

A malfunction occurred in Zhongxing 6B satellite around 10:59 am and lasted 47 minutes, disrupting transmission of China Central Television (CCTV), China Education Television and 23 provincial satellite TVs, SARFT said. Channel by channel transmission resumed from 11:47 am to 01:11 pm.

SARFT has apologized to viewers for the interruption.
