NEW YORK: New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez tested positive for two anabolic steroids in 2003 according to four independent sources, Sports Illustrated magazine reported on Saturday.
Rodriguez, baseball's highest-paid player, won the American League MVP award as a shortstop for the Texas Rangers that year, the third consecutive season he had won the AL home run title.
The magazine's website (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com), said Rodriguez' name was on a list of 104 players who tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in MLB's 2003 survey testing.
