Wang Wei (AD 701-761), one of the most famous poets in the Tang Dynasty, left many poems that are recited by Chinese today. He spent his last years as a hermit, playing music, drawing paintings, writing and entertaining occasional visitors at a garden named Wangchuan Bieye.
