Deal reached on Picassos

Two top New York galleries have reached a deal allowing them to keep Picasso paintings once owned by a Jewish banker, whose family said they were sold under duress in Nazi Germany.

The Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum on Wednesday announced an out-of-court deal with the family of Paul von Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, who died in Germany in 1935 shortly after selling the works.
