High-speed rail on track
The Beijing-Shenyang express railway will start construction in June, shortening the travel time between the two cities from four hours to two hours and 18 minutes, the Shenyang-based Chinese Business Morning View reported yesterday.
The 687-km-long railway will cost more than 70 billion yuan ($10.2 billion) to build with a designed speed of 350 km per hour.
