The Oldies but Goodies jazz band will perform romantic music for Valentines' Day. The band's repertoire includes jazz music of the 1950-60s, domestic and overseas folk songs and pop songs. Programs of the latest concert include Moon River, Autumn Whisper, Butterfly Lovers, Love Story, Rosy Life, My Heart Will Go On and A Night at Moscow's Suburb.

To get acquainted with the ancient city of Beijing? Head to the Beijing Art Museum of Imperial City. The permanent show at the museum, entitled Sand Table of the Imperial City's Panoramic View, restores the ancient city during the Ming and Qing dynasties with gardens, warehouses, water systems and others.

Around 200 ink and oil masterworks that depict China's diverse and colorful ethnic lifestyles are on display.

The Beijing People's Art Theater has been a cradle for modern drama in China. Founders of the theater and its 43 classic plays are introduced in the exhibition through photographs and text materials.

Shanghai

The drama La Traviata loosely based on Dumas's novel about the sick courtesan Violetta and her vain desire to extricate herself from the conventions of society, has been tugging at audiences' heartstrings for more than 150 years. This time, it's presented by the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center.

Enjoy a lighthearted Spring Festival concert from the Shanghai Philharmonic. With Xiao Bai and Ye Yunmin as directors, a series of folk songs from all over the world will be presented.

The artist Wu Guanzhong is presenting his biggest solo exhibition for many years. More than 160 artworks will be on display, including oil paintings, ink paintings and sketches, reflecting Wu in his different creative periods.

Guangzhou

The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is hosting a Valentine's Day concert along almost identical lines.

The symphony concert will play the theme music from various movies, including Titanic, Roman Holiday, Gone with the Wind and Ghost.

One twist is that romantic scenes from the films will also be played during the concert.

Date with My Ex-wife is a modern drama created by the director of the Guangzhou Drama Group, Li Wei.

A couple divorce but remain friends. The man introduces a friend to his ex-wife, who is angry at first but then begins dating the friend.

The drama was well received when it was shown in Shanghai last summer.
