Laughing and loving
The Spring Festival holiday is one of the busiest times of the year for cinemas as everybody flocks to see the new release blockbusters. Six new movies will be released and comedy remains the most popular theme.
Silver Medalist was released earlier this week and is another nutty movie by mainland director Ning Hao, who had a huge success with his small-budget classic Crazy Stone. This time Ning presents an action-adventure story focused on the lives of express deliverymen, traffic cops and lonely beauties. Starring comedy actor Huang Bo.
It has been 16 years since the Hong Kong classic All's Well End's Well was released and 2009 sees the return of this comedy classic. The original film features Stephen Chow, Meggie Cheung and Leslie Cheung, who all became huge superstars. The new version of the family comedy is directed by Vicent Kok and stars Sandra Ng, Raymond Wong and Louis Koo.
