By Louise Ho | China Daily | Updated: 2009-01-23 07:34

HONG KONG: The Hong Kong government yesterday said it will seek an additional HK$4 billion ($515 million) from the Legislative Council to help reconstruct quake-stricken areas in Sichuan province.

The council had approved HK$2 billion in July to help rebuild parts of the province.

If the council gives its nod for the additional amount, a total of HK$6 billion will be put into the Trust Fund in Support of Reconstruction in the Sichuan Earthquake Stricken Areas for Hong Kong's second stage of reconstruction work.
