Accident kills 8

Eight people were killed and seven injured in a traffic collision involving two buses on an expressway in Jiangxi province early yesterday, local authorities said.

The accident took place at about 4:20 am in Yujiang county, when a bus crashed into an overturned heavy vehicle on the expressway linking Shanghai with Kunming, said Yao Shaowu, an officer of the Jiangxi provincial traffic police. "It was raining and the road was slippery when the accident occurred," Yao said.
