Raul Castro to visit Russia

Cuban leader Raul Castro will make a state visit to Havana's Cold War ally Russia at the end of this month, the Russian foreign ministry announced yesterday.

Russian and Cuban deputy foreign ministers met yesterday to discuss "preparations for the upcoming official visit to Russia of... R. Castro at the end of January," the ministry said in a statement without giving a date for the visit.
