Shot fan fighting for life
MONTEVIDEO: A Uruguayan football fan was fighting for his life on Sunday after being shot in the throat as supporters from Nacional Montevideo and bitter rivals Penarol fought running battles, police said.
The 33-year-old Nacional fan was in the intensive care unit of a Montevideo hospital where his condition was described as "serious" after "being shot in the throat", a police spokesman said.
