Donkey magic

The first animated version of Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes Zaavedra's 17-century epic Don Quixote was broadcast as a series on Chinese TV screens in the 1980s and now comes to the big screen. This new animated adventure follows Don Quixote in his quest, as told by a donkey named Rucio, who dreams of being a horse. Joining the Don is his best friend and the wealthiest man in town, Sancho Panza, and his faithful steed, Rocinante, who hates leaving the stable. Their adventures find them embroiled in a duel that Quixote must win in order for the true identity of Dulcinea to be revealed.
