China joins IDB

China joined the Inter-American Development Bank Group (IDB) on Jan 12 and became a formal member of the Inter-American Development Bank, the Inter-American Investment Corp and the Multilateral Investment Fund of IDB.

Zhou Wenzhong, China's ambassador to the US, said China's membership in the IDB will create a new platform for further cooperation between China and Latin American countries.
