Generous donations
Philips Electronics China Group said yesterday it will donate nearly 4.8 million yuan ($700,000) worth of lighting equipment to 200 schools in quake-affected areas of Sichuan province.
The company said it will also contribute 2 million yuan to finance the construction of a hospital in the town of Bailu, which was hard hit by the May quake.
