New rules for migrants

People who stay in Lhasa for more than 30 days will soon be required to apply for temporary residence permits, under a new regulation approved recently by the local people's congress.

The regulation, which will be implemented soon, said people with temporary residence permits will be able to benefit from the same education, employment and family planning services as permanent residents.
