Water supply cut

More than 350,000 residents of Shanghai's Songjiang district were without tap water yesterday due to a technical problem at the local water company.

The problem involving a pump malfunction could take up to 35 hours to fix, local media said. The water company has sent 30 water tankers to the most densely populated areas of the district to provide temporary supplies.
