FM to make 6-nation trip
Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi will pay official visits to Uganda, Rwanda, Malawi, South Africa, Brazil and Portugal from Jan 13 to 21, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said yesterday.
Yang will first visit four African countries in his first foreign trip in 2009, maintaining the 19-year tradition of Chinese FM visiting Africa at the beginning of each new year. During this visit, Yang will sign bilateral cooperation agreements with the four African countries, which will further promote the strategic cooperation between China and Africa, Jiang said.
