Scientists clone bull in Year of the Ox

Two cloned ox are displayed after a press conference to announce the successful cloning of an ox that died in 1993 and was preserved by freezing it at the Gifu prefecture's livestock center at Takayama city in Gifu prefecture, central Japan, yesterday. Reuters

Japanese scientists said yesterday they had successfully cloned the ancestral bull of a luxurious brand of beef, possibly opening the way to distribute cloned beef.
