Homeliness, breathtaking environment boost allure

China's rapid economic growth over the past three decades has resulted in some cities developing a step ahead of others.

Xiamen, on the coast in east China's Fujian province, is well-known for its livable natural environment and comfortable cultural surroundings, for it is like "a city that feels like home".

Xiamen was awarded some prizes including the China Habitat Environment Prize, United Nation Habitat Prize and China's Civilization City, all in the last two years.
