Panasonic may hit target

Panasonic Corp, the world's largest maker of consumer electronics, will "come close" to meeting its target to sell 11 million flat-panel televisions this fiscal year, President Fumio Ohtsubo said.

"I can't say for sure but we will come close," Ohtsubo said in Tokyo yesterday. The Osaka, Japan-based company is cutting product prices "more aggressively" than anticipated, he said.
