Lucky ones flee a battered Gaza, raids continue

China Daily | Updated: 2009-01-03 07:58

Nearly 300 Palestinians with foreign passports fled the Gaza Strip on Friday as Israel continued pounding the blockaded Palestinian territory for the seventh consecutive day.

An air strike in the town of Khan Yunis killed three Palestinian children aged between 8 and 12 years even as Palestinian Islamists vowed revenge against Israel for killing a senior Hamas leader and his family. They said all options including suicide bombs were now open to "strike at Zionist interests everywhere".

At dusk on Friday, Palestinians holding citizenship from the US, Russia, Turkey, Norway, Kazakhstan and other countries entered Israel. The Palestinians then boarded buses taking them to Amman, Jordan.
