Nation donates $500,000 for fire victims

BANGKOK: China will provide $500,000 to the Thai government for the medical treatment of victims of the fire that hit a Bangkok nightclub early on New Year's Day, the Chinese embassy in the Thai capital said on Friday. Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi sent a message to his Thai counterpart Kasit Piromya expressing condolences to the victims' families.
