Chinese navy's historic mission

China's decision to send warships to help fight pirates in the Gulf of Aden and off the coast of Somalia is historic. The deployment, the first of its kind, will help protect international shipping safety and improve the combat capability of the Chinese navy.

In short, China has every reason to fulfill its international obligation to maintain international peace and security, both as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, a responsible rising power, and a brother country of African people.
