'Sun Tzu' in production

Mainland actor Zhang Fengyi (pictured), who plays Cao Cao, the ambitious warlord in John Woo's extravaganza Red Cliff (Chi Bi), is hitting the small screen with another role as an ancient hero.

Zhang will play the leading role in Biography of Sun Tzu (Sun Tzu Da Zhuan), a TV series on the life and legend of Sun Tzu, a military strategist who is said to have lived in the Spring and Autumn Period of China (722-481 BC) and is known as the author of Art of War (Sun Tzu Bingfa), an immensely influential Chinese book on military strategy. The book's influence is so profound that some modern entrepreneurs, such as Konosuke Matsushita, the founder of Panasonic, use it as a guide for enterprise management.
