England-India Test match peters out in probable draw

MOHALI, India: Opener Gautam Gambhir was dismissed for 97 to miss out on scoring hundreds in both innings as India's second and final test against England neared a tame draw on the final day on Tuesday.

India, 1-0 up in the series, declared their second innings closed on 251 for seven when Gambhir was out after lunch.

At tea, England were 31 for one in their second innings after being set an improbable victory target of 403 from 43 overs.
