Chow's U-turn, from down and out to down the aisle
Who woulda guessed? After breaking up with her errant boyfriend last week, the "Eternal Maiden Queen" Vivian Chow now intends to become his Mrs. The 41-year-old former actress hit the headlines when she was confronted with photographic evidence of 44-year-old Joe Nieh's infidelity. The writer and publisher was caught sliding into first base with student Miffty Zhang(pictured), 21, at a nightclub.
Since this wasn't his first transgression (it was his ninth, according to Three Weekly), Chow was applauded for keeping to the three-strike rule and striking him out, albeit tearfully. Columnists wrote obituaries on a 19-year relationship. But hold the front page! Nieh then released a statement to the press called "Final Happiness", saying he and Chow had kissed and made up. Not only were they going to get married, they had applied to the registry office for a wedding date.
Love triumphs. Congratulations. Not so fast. First, Chow bit the hand that has been feeding her all these years when she started laying into the press, claiming it was responsible for the breakup in the first place. Yeah, right, like journalists are responsible for the itch in Nieh's pants.
