Telecom numbers launched
China Telecom, the nation's largest fixed-line operator, yesterday launched its 189-prefix CDMA mobile numbers nationwide. China Telecom becomes China's No 3 mobile operator after its takeover of China Unicom's CDMA network this October.
The company said it plans to invest 80 billion yuan in the next three years to upgrade its national telecom network and attract more CDMA handset subscribers.
