World-famous Israeli dance company Sheketak will make a big noise in Beijing on Monday with Rhythm in Motion, a show incorporating rhythmic tap dancing, hip-pop and break dancing.
Sheketak actually means silence in Hebrew but has toured 25 countries with a form of percussion that it describes as Israel's answer to stomp. Its combination of dance, percussion, tap, hip-hop, humor and live music has gained worldwide praise and earned repeat invitations from many places.
Over the years, Israeli dancers have constantly combined elements from other cultures with the music and themes of modern Israel to create a new spirit in an ancient land.
